Maths

Mathematics is important in everyday life and, with this is mind, the purpose of our Maths curriculum is to develop our pupil’s ability to reason mathematically, problem solve and develop fluency in each strand of the maths curriculum. We allow all pupils to explore maths in depth, using mathematical vocabulary to reason and explain their workings. We aim to encourage resilience and perseverance and create a safe environment to make mistakes. By using the concrete, pictorial and abstract approach to maths we give clear models and images to aid in mathematical understanding. At St Bernadette, we provide a progressive curriculum which caters for all of our pupils and aim to deliver a rich, engaging and exciting curriculum that helps develop a love of Maths.
