Our aim is to facilitate a lifelong love of reading by giving the children in our school the opportunity to learn to read in a fun, supportive and encouraging environment with access to interesting and age appropriate texts in a variety of genres. We believe that reading is one of the most important life skills and at St Bernadette Catholic Primary School we are committed to helping our children to become lifelong readers. We aim to foster a love of reading from the children’s very first days at school. We will work closely with parents and carers at home and will teach reading consistently throughout the school to enable the highest number of children possible to achieve the expected standard or higher.
