Computing and Digital Literacy

Computing Intent

We believe that in our technology rich lives, it is crucial that our children are curious and confident when using ICT.  Children should be at the forefront of new technology with a thirst for learning what is out there.  Our computing lessons enable our children to be active participants in their learning and to develop transferable skills for the future.

Throughout the study of computing, children will be able to develop a wide range of fundamental skills, knowledge and understanding that will help equip them for the rest of their life.

Here at St Bernadette Catholic Primary, Computing is taught both as a stand alone subject and is also woven throughout the curriculum to enrich and deepen children's experiences within school.

To gain insight into what skills your child will be learning in Computing in St Bernadette, please see the curriculum overview to look at the KS1 and KS2 curriculum maps.

Educational computing sites can be found under 'Resources'.  These can be used to support our computing curriculum as well as give parents a useful list of places to visit locally with a technology/computing theme.

There is also information regarding after school/holiday computing clubs in the local vicinity.
