Art/ DT

This morning we had the opportunity to be as creative as we liked with the materials we had in class. Our only instruction was to create a 3D model. We are so proud of our creations!

To launch Art Week, we joined in with a 'Draw along with Liz Pichan'. We drew the Tom Gates character and added different emotions.

To celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, we used the technique of 'Decoupage' to create coasters. We had to be very patient and use delicate strokes to ensure the transfer was successful.

We completed our Leonid Afremov art work by adding a landmark and reflection in the water. We are so proud of what we have created.

During Art this week, we learnt about who the Pre-Raphaelites were and explored their artwork. We then tried to re-create their artwork using our own choice of medium.

As part of our learning about the Caribbean, we created masks that might be worn to Notting Hill Carnival. We needed lots of patience when attaching the sequins! Check back to see them completed!

We had a fantastic time helping to create our school mosaic today. We enjoyed learning using skills and creating something special.

Inspired by the work of Leonid Afremov, we made our own palette knives to help recreate his art work. We have tried to create texture when painting our background and will build up the colour when this layer has dried. Check back to see our finished pieces!

Here we are with our finished eyes. Don't they look great!

As part of our learning linked to Darwin's Dragons, we used clay to create a dragon's eye. Once the clay dried, we used acrylic paint to add detail.

After lots of planning and investigating shelters, we finally made our own. It was quite tricky but lots of fun!

We looked around the playground to find suitable places to make a shelter. We can't wait to create them next week!

We investigated suitable textiles for the purpose of making a shelter. We had to work as a team to build our shelters and then test their water resistance and strength.

We used words to create a calligram portrait.

We used given materials to create shelters. We had to think carefully about how to make strong joins.
