Applying for a Place

Applications for a pre-school place should be made as early as possible using the Pre-School Admission Form.

Completed forms should be emailed to preschool.stbernadettep@bristol-schools.uk or submitted to the School Office. Admission forms are available from the school and via the website.

Intake Dates

We offer two admission points each year:

• September (start of Term 1)
• April (start of Term 5)

To allow sufficient time for home visits, meetings and completion of admissions paperwork, applications should normally be received by the final academic week of the relevant term.

• Admission timelines:

• September starters: June (Term 5).
• April starters: February or beginning of March (Term 3).

Funded Childcare Entitlement

Children become eligible for government-funded childcare from the start of the term following their third birthday.

To qualify for the Universal 15 Hours Free Childcare Entitlement, children must turn three on or before:

• 31 August for the autumn term
• 31 March for the summer term

15-Hour Funded Sessions

Families may choose one of the following attendance patterns:

Option 1

• Monday: 9.00am - 3.00pm
• Tuesday: 9.00am - 3.00pm
• Wednesday: 9.00am - 12.00pm

Option 2

• Wednesday: 12.00pm - 3.00pm
• Thursday: 9.00am - 3.00pm
• Friday: 9.00am - 3.00pm

30-Hour Childcare Entitlement

Eligible working families may be entitled to an additional 15 funded hours, providing a total of 30 free childcare hours per week:

Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 3.00pm

To access the additional funded hours, parents must apply for a code through HMRC via the Childcare Choices website at Childcare Choices or by calling 0300 123 4097. Families must reconfirm their eligibility every three months to continue receiving the extended entitlement.

No code is required for the Universal 15-hour entitlement.

Rising Three Provision

Subject to availability, children may be admitted before becoming eligible for funded childcare as a Rising Three, provided they are aged 2 years and 10 months on or before:

• 31 August for a September start
• 31 March for an April start

The same intake dates and session arrangements apply.

Fees:

• £15.00 per session
• Minimum attendance of 15 hours per week
• Fees must be paid in advance via Arbor
